Review #30 | NihongoIchiban | Learn Japanese For Free

NihongoIchiban in the sense I am interested in it for, is a defunct service provided by a Shokuhin no Kaisha (食品の会社; someone who sources local food goods) such as this is a Specialist Culinary sourcing company who provide locally sourced ingredients like Shokupan (Japan-only box-shaped bread) for example. Using their defunct materials however will allow you to make sense of the stuff in Bold, for example and how that stuff works in the extended universe of going through their links and what a Jukugo is. This paragraph and the work behind it from myself and the wider community is why we all have blogs and share our information for free. lol word-salad innit (www ワドーサラダ です。) 神、私の専攻は便利ですね。.

What

Nihongoicihibans website is now a defunct blog. A particular LJ43 delicacy it seems. What can be salvaged appears to be the particle list, the links page and a couple of other blogs which is categorised in their directory in the web archive service at archive.org.

Particle list - A great tool which I highly recommend for saving time and money because its one of the most exhaustive things Ive seen in a while. Literally just a giant list of how many ways hiragana can be twisted into contextual schema (e is also he; but sometimes just he, and they all mean movement related stuff).

Links page - A slight mess as its basically just a lot of old defunct websites. Somethings work still but under different names and will require prodding around the sites in question for a while.

Blog directory - Good for looking at cultural aspects and time capsules of the 2000-2010s periods.

Where

Available at https://nihongoichiban.com/books/

Who

The creator of  NihongoIchiban is the same person as the creator of the NihongoIchiban warehouse website.

These all have many, many people involved in these projects whom I would love to highlight if they wish to be.

When

Available online only, unless you download their PDF workbooks.

Why

Particle list - A great tool which I highly recommend for saving time and money. Its best to probably save it somewhere as these types of website have a tendency to go down due to their domains not having mirrors or server space for them anymore.

Links page - A slight mess as its basically just a lot of old defunct websites. These ones work:

Official site for the Japanese language proficiency test (JLPT)

The Japan Foundation

Where to take the JLPT in the Philippines probs

The JLPT Study Page ish

JLPT Resources ish

The Business Japanese Proficiency Test (BJT)

JAANUS  Terminology of Japanese Architecture & Art History – (Japanese – English)

Wadoku – (Japanese – German)

Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) ish

NHK World Free Japanese Lessons

JapanesePod 101 not free always but some great starter stuff on there

Study Japanese ish

These do not:

Nouben

Jim Breen’s – word translation (Japanese – English)

Nihongo Lesson

JAPAN BLOG DIRECTORY

Blog directory - Good for looking at cultural aspects and time capsules of the 2000-2010s periods, it contains many accessible aspects of Japanese culture and niche Shuumi which otherwise I cannot go into due to time and mental constraints on my end. So useful in a cultural and exploratory sense if you get bored on the train or the toilet reading this.

Conclusion

In conclusion, not a bad compendium of time capsules, but otherwise the information provided is mostly available directly from my own compendium so browse as you like as usual. A more useful waste/non-waste of your time would be to have using the PDF's provided and the other materials the site gives such as the Particle List.

Review #29 | Yomitan | Learn Japanese For Free

This review is forYomitan. I would recommend it for all levels of learners. An extension for dicitionary tools on webpages. Useful for finding out about the grammatical and other lingusitical and stroke order (www) of Japanese vocabulary you come across online. Also available for PDFs and is mostly open source so you will find it to be, saucy.

Karen being 1972 Moe (1972, PD) Panini

What

Yomitan refers to the dictionary browser extension which operates as the actual legacy of what Migaku once was RIP. The extension is basically compiled nowadays on Chrome at least of a sort of mix of the term that you have highlighted in the webpage. It will give additional lexical entries for major Japanese-English dictionaries including their entry forms, then give their grammatical inclinations. There is also an entry for the  opensource dictionary service Jitendex. There are also additional slang forms and stroke order options in some words.

Different forms are provided, with more information about definition and additional semantical information. Examples and example sentences are also provided below. Audio files are also available.

Useful for people wanting to practice Kanji comprehension, stroke order, voacbulary and reading comprehension.

Where

Online at  https://yomitan.wiki/

To get the tool used on a webpage, hold down shift on highlighted text.

You can get it from the playstore or just typing it into your preferred search engine, Google seems to be on the decline, SEO especially lately. So be wary.

Who

The creator of Yomitan is Alex Yatskov of Foosoft Productions as Yomichan.

Yomitan is maintained by the TheMoeWay community.

These all have many, many people involved in these projects whom I would love to highlight if they wish to be.

When

Available even offline, as I have annoyingly found out it pops up every time I click on a Youtube video.

Why

Useful for checking vocabulary. Not useful for when you have deadlines and multiple keyboards on your work and home computers.

https://yomitan.wiki/yomitan-pdf-viewer/web/     this webpage can apparently do the same for learning with PDF's.
